COLUMBUS, Ohio – Gov. Mike DeWine announced new social studies initiatives Wednesday, including using history, geography and civics content to teach students reading and writing skills.

“Today, students receive the majority of their Ohio history education in fourth grade,” he said. “Instead, we are going to expose kids to our state’s history in every grade, starting in kindergarten!”
